Storage

My fave gifts from my niece Hana. A couple of cropper hopper embellishment cases, loaded with stamps. She also got me two Marvy punchers. As I've said in the past, I have the best nieces ever. They have great taste in scrap stuff.
I am also getting tired of living in bags. I have a bag of punchers in the table, I have another bag of punchers by my bedside. So I bought this huge laundry basket for 100 pesos. Sale na cya from 200 pesos. And dumped all my fave punchers in it. The others are in the punch cabinet upstairs.

Day 2 Bed Rest

So this is what Day 2 of bedrest looks like. I am supposed to be in bed resting. I have a bad case of cough and the colds. I was in bed the whole day yesterday just watching videos, feeling as if I am frying my eyes.
So today, I had the hubby drive me to the bookstore and get embellishments. I just love All about Scrapbooking's embellishments, cheap and cute to boot. I was able to purchase the handmade flowers there, the wooden butterflies and they have beautiful gems out now. It's like hoarding, but waay cheaper.
It took me 7 hours to make all 10 tags, for the swap in January.
Why did it take me so long?
I used three different Tim Holtz stamps for the background.
I added two trims at the bottom.
I used a sizzix machine to die cut the Love, the tree branch, the bird and the hearts.
Next, I painted Love chocolate, and used embossing ink and UTEE on it.
I used crackle paint on the bird and on the branch.
Added the hearts. Used stick pins on the flowers. Added the brads. Added the wooden butterfly on the upper left side corner. Used gold dust on the right side. Added gold paint on the tags border.
Cut some trimmings. Added a twine bow. Used a beautiful antique button.
You just need so set aside some time, batch process, and it can be done.
Back to bed, I am just exhausted.

Memories

I used Iris' Tim Holtz on the edge die and made a continuous strip. My butterfly was pink, but I used black paint, so it will blend with the lay out.

I used a couple of Martha deep edge punchers. Some lace from Iris' previous class. And a new wooden button from All about Scrapbooking. This is a pic of my favourite winery in Napa. V. Sattui.

To Sleep

Well, it's midnight. I am supposed to be sleeping. But so far sleep has eluded me. So, I scrapped.
My hubby found pictures from our engagement. I thought they were lost for good, but now these little treasures are being put into lay outs. So yay!

Using a sketch by Iris. This picture was taken during my brother's engagement party or in Tagalog, pamamanhikan.

My friends and I have this long standing tradition. For our exchange gift during Christmas, we pass on our unused scrap stuff. Because by Christmas, we are always out of budget! Good to know that I am not that inundated with stuff. I mostly have papers and tools. I only have a basketfull of embelishments. So yes, I am in a good place. Next year, I plan on making more lay outs. And here's the clincher, to keep track of how many I make.

labeling

While waiting for my hubby watch the Pacquiao fight, I was able to have these made. From Robee's stickers. A sheet of 120 stickers costs 100 pesos. These are tiny enough to fit most of our punchers and other scrap stuff. Best of all, you can choose the design you want. I have two doggies on mine.

The Random Crate Class

Here are 6 lay outs from Iris' class on November 26.
We were so lucky she allowed us to take the class early.

Tips: make it a group effort. Sharon made the die cuts for me.
I put stamps on our papers.
And Iris made the UTEE chipboard element for all of us.
Also, if possible, purchase the flower paper before hand and cut it. That way, you show up with all your flowers cut up already.
Arrive for class early, that way you don't need to panic and have ample time to finish.
Used some pearl mica + clear tar gel on this.
Good thing we shared a pack of those mistable Pink Paislee papers. So pretty when we used distressed inks on them!

Used some embossing ink, dusted pearl powder and then set it with some water spray.
A couple of years later, and taking a class with Iris is still magic.

Loving nantucket

I've always been drawn to pastel colors. I've loved Lilly Pulitzer, worn them 24/7. I love the timeless appeal of Anna Griffin papers. When Pink Paislee came out with these papers, I fell in love. Most of these lay outs have been scraplifted from Two peas.

Not enough

If scrapbooking is my passion. For my dear hubby, it's golf. Used some really old We R Memory papers. Still timeless papers.

finishing up

Some more crate lay outs.
