Frugal Scrapbooking

Dos Amigos

Bunny and Me

I sometimes think twice about getting scrapbook kits. Why? It's sometimes just cheaper to just get the paper. Embellies, I have a lot. I am not picky. Like right now, there is a sale in all National Bookstores. You can pick up All About scrapbooking trims for 20 pesos. Brads usually go for 9 pesos. And there are also wooden embellies you can get for 5 pesos. At those prices, they are practically giving them away.

So as usual, I saved 900 pesos, by not getting the kit. I bought a stamp and a couple of templates for the same amount. I still think of it as a win win situation.

If you can pick out which ones I copied from Iris' lay out, and which ones I made on my own. Let's call them Bessie's originals, I will give you a prize. I have a couple of BH&G Scrapbooking magazines up for grabs. Just leave a comment.

last week's crop

Discover.
Forever friends.
An awesome picture of me and my niece Corinne. Well, you know what they say... When she's nice, she's nice. And when she's all spice, that's just pure toyo. My niece and I both share tantrums.
My Boracay bound Bunny lay out.
And since I am the only princess in the family. Yes, kahit malaking princess, princess pa din.
Hats a plenty. Don't you just love those picture booths during parties?
I just love this picture with the phat dolls in Bangkok.
Well some people have Paris. My Bunny and I have Bangkok as our city of love.

Baby Love. When Corinne was still a baby.

A class at Visual Creation

Last Saturday, Karen and I attended a class taught by Ime Oranga and Cabbie Lopez.
We were able to finish 4 lay outs and 3 bottle cap mini lay outs. So cute.
For this lay out, we used a Prima canvas sheet. Misted it, used a mask. Cut out the canvas butterfly and attached bling to it. I love Mitch's classes. It is just chockfull of embellies you would never ordinarily use. We used door knobs, tin plates from Making Memories and a jewelry line also from Making Memories.
Karen applied glimmer glam on the bird cage wires so they have a broken glass effect on them. I only like the glimmer glam for the antique look on the pages.
I painted the dressform brown and put liquitex over a mask. I love that. instant texture. Used a journaling page as a frame, used black liquid glitter to highlight the butterfly background. Used these acrylic prima flowers. And fun! We used diamond glaze for the bottom part and stuck Martha tinsel on them.

7 in a day

The first three lay outs were finished last night while I was playing with paper scraps from a class taken yesterday.
Look closely at the matting of the picture. It's actually the packaging of some chipboard shapes already used, but to pretty to throw away.

The next four lay outs were done with Iris. Honestly, too much cutting. But still loads of fun.
