How does your garden grow?

I love prima flowers, but at the rate I go through my flowers,  I needed something that costs less.  So I usually buy paper flowers at scrap sales, and glue them together, add  bling or a pearl center.  I've also borrowed a bunch of dies and bought assorted materials to make my own flowers.  I'll keep you updated as soon as I make some pretty ones.

Positive Influences

Before I met my husband, I was spending Holy Thursday on top of my jetski, or on the beach with my brothers.  Since being married to my husband, we usually do Visita Iglesia, or visit 7 churches while doing the way of the cross.
Aside from my husband, another positive influence in my crafting life  is my friend Cecil Atengco.
This is the project we made last Wednesday.  It's a cool Magnolia box that opens and can hold knick knacks.  Perfect for my nieces!

Cecile has a card coloring class on April 13 at Lasting Impression, San Juan.  She provides a water brush, cool tips.  And she is also generous  when it comes to sharing her toys like spellbinders,  magonolia stamps and dies,  embossing folders, her distress inks! Gear up for an afternoon of fun  and coloring.

Kindly email babongatengco@yahoo.com  to reserve your seats.

Modern Love

I wanted to veer off my predictable lay outs.  Romantic,  fun,  my usual go-to techniques.  So this is the first time I've tried something modern and stream lined.  I love it!  This is my third lay out for the Idols search.
I love challenging myself every week to try something new.  Looking forward to next week's!

Family Fun

Nothing screams summer like this fun fun lay out.  I used a sketch from Valerie Salmon, playing along and making more lay outs!
I used papers from DCWV, scraps from Echo Park and Bella Blvd.  Fun colored buttons and twine.
I hand drawn the sun and cut it, and used the sun to frame a picture.
My hubby said that the reason why he wasn't in the pic was because he was the one who took the picture.

Color your world

Sometimes white can be boring.  So with a few coats of paint,  my birds are brought to life!  Excited to use these in future lay outs.

A Card from Cecile

I just love my second Magnolia Card!  Cecile Atengco provided the materials for this beautiful card.  She teaches you how to  color, she provides the die cuts, the tag and even the tulle fabric for the card.  She even brought a tiny puncher so you can make your own flowers.  Beautiful details.  Awesome card, colored with distress ink.  Cecile will be teaching a card class in Lasting Impression on April 6.  For more details, email her at babongatengco@yahoo.com.  Learn tips and tricks from this generous lady.

Addicted to Adhesives

I hoard.  I really do.  I used to collect paper trimmers.  I still have most of them.
And it seems now I collect adhesives as well.
I am trying to organize my stuff,  carting to storage stuff I have multiples of.
I think I am good for the next couple of years.

Wet glue, Uhu and Aleene's.  And a still mystery glue from Doc Venus.
thanks.
I just refill my UHU containers,  hence the duct tape.
Thanks Cecil, for giving me your empty containers.

Double adhesive and Foam tape.

Herma dotto refills and ATG refills.

When I find a good deal, I buy na.  Kasi who knows when the next good deal would come around?

My Entry

My friend encouraged me to join a scrapbook contest locally.  Ok, I joined just for kicks.  Well hey, at least I get to make more lay outs.  I joined, she didn't.
And so, for the first challenge,  the theme is Coke, ibuhos ang saya.  I tried to look for  photos with some coke in it.  I found one!
And then another group was also having a sketch challenge.  So I used that sketch to make this lay out.  Hitting two birds with one stone.

My First Magnolia Card

I borrowed a card from Karen Filipino,  and tried my best to copy it.  I  did not have papers exactly like the ones she used, so I just used the ones lying around in the house.  And came up with this cutie.
I also used Distress reinkers to color Tilda.  Thanks to my awesome friends for lending me the Tilda stamp, spellbinders  and this very pretty leaves die.

The Influence of Friends

I just love how my friends and I are into different things.
Cecil and Ime are into stamping and card making.
They love love Magnolia stamps
and they also had me hooked on them.
I have to say that I steered clear of Magnolia stamps because they are quite pricey, beyond my scrap budget.

What sealed it for me, was crashing a cards class by Susan Lee.
Susan Lee had a couple of classes in Manila.
I love that she is so practical and down to earth.
She is so mabait, and easily she will share her crafting secrets.

What I love is how practical she is.  She colors using Distress inks.
Yup. you heard me.

Little miss hoarder me.  I bought most of the ink pads and their reinkers but hardly used them at all.
So yay!  Now, I finally get to use them.

Experimenting with Tilda's hair colors.

And I printed this from the Ranger website on watercolor paper.
I made my own codes, which ones I have reinkers, and which ones I have in inkpads.
It helps me figure out which colors to use on Tilda!

Totally loving this.
