Happy Birthday Karen

Karen gave us the bones and the makings of this mini album.
She taught us how to make the pages, envelopes and the cover of the mini album.
She gave us the option to choose which DCWV stack we would like to use.

and this is what I made with mine.

used an All About Scrapbooking felt accent, which I got on sale!

Pretty pretty pockets.

Sorry I can't share anymore pages.  This mini album is taking part in a swap.

Saturday Scrap

Today, I attended a class by Iris.  Beautiful lay outs in my favourite pastel colors.
I love how we used this die cut as a mask,  and then we also piled on this texture medium.
Hey, you see one texture medium, you see them all.
You lost me at Gesso.

Used Inktense to color up the stamps.

Smooshed some distress stains on a craft mat, watered up watercolor paper and lifted the colors up.

Splattered on some distress stains on paper.  Beautiful splotches!

Karen's lay outs

Karen made me these amazing lay outs from the kit I made her.

One of the things I hardly use at all, are screens!

So yup, I added a couple of those in each kit.

I like the Graphic 45 papers,  but it's not my style.  But Karen, certainly made it work.
Beautiful lay out.
I also tossed in some loud Sassafrass papers.  Not my type.  But again, she made a beautiful Christmas lay out.

She used like a ton of paper punches on this paper.  Thanks, and I appreciate the work you put into this one.

Wow!  This one is truly romantic.

I love this lay out.  It tells a wonderful story.  Do you see my holding up a picture,  that's the before.  And the current picture is the after.  Still together after 30+ years.

Simple but well put together.

A beautiful lay out of my niece and nephew.

I am totally sold on kits.  It challenges you to use papers that are not your type. It makes you use techniques.  As with the beautiful lay outs made by Karen, these just made her shine!

For Ime

I think I am happy with the six lay outs that I've made for Ime.
Enough na.  Time to call it a day.

Ime likes to distress the edges of her papers.  It seems that I do not have the patience to distress papers.  So instead of using a paper distresser, I reached for my scissors with the fancy edges.

Kit 3

I know that I may give off this false impression that scrapbooking is easy.
I made 18 lay outs,  and then 15 lay outs in consecutive weeks.
But nope.  Sometimes I do get stumped as well.
For Ime, I have made only three lay outs so far.
The papers are totally different from my fun fun colors.
To channel my inner Ime, I need to do layering.
Romantic lay outs.
Distress the edges.
We are not in Kansas, Toto.
I am just hoping to make a couple more, to finish my assignment.

Beach Lay Outs

Here we are at Week 2 of our kit swap.
I love this kit!  Because I love making lay outs out of fun, fun colors.
I think I am partial to yellow, blues, greens and orange.
So far, this is the best kit ever.
Loaded with buttons, washi tape, embellishments and a stamp!
I notice that I will pile on embellishments if I can  get my hands on them.
If there isn't any, I'll make do.
Here are my 16 lay outs:

Saving the best for last.  The next one is my favorite.
